SUGAHARA GLASSWORKS
NEW COLLECTION 2019 PREVIEW & SHOPPING EVENT

Please join us for a special evening with Sugahara Glassworks and friends, where Sugahara’s latest collection will be on the view and also available to purchase. While enjoying shopping, taste Japanese sake, beer and chocolates served in Sugahara glassware:

ZAKU is a rare sake produced by Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten, a 150 year-old sake brewery in Suzuka, Mie. Suzuka has a long history of sake brewing because of the pellucid water originating from the Suzuka Mountains and supply of good rice from the Ise Plain and has been often praised for the umasake (good-sake-yielding) in Japanese classic literatures. Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten is one of the sake breweries who strives to carry on the tradition of the umasake land and is also a Sugahara’s collaborator of the Osake Glass.

Haikara is a fruit sake produced by a sake brewery called Umenoyado located in Nara. The area is considered as the birthplace of sake because of its cold winters which are ideal for making good sake and Umenoyado has been producing traditional Japanese sake there since 1893. Haikara uses all local ingredients: water, rice and fresh fruits which are artfully combined in small batches. Each batch has its own characteristics which must be balanced to create each delicious bottle of Haikara.

KIRIN ICHIBAN is the beer that uses the first press method to extract fine wort from barley malt, hence the name Ichiban ? which means first and best in Japanese. It is an all malt formula using only the finest Czech hops and choice original yeast giving it a distinctively rich “Umami” flavor and smooth finish.

ROYCE’ is a Japanese confections brand that was founded in 1983 in Sapporo, the capital city of Japan’s northernmost island, Hokkaido. Over the years, they have become known for their well-crafted chocolate products, which includes their signature Nama Chocolate selections, and novelty treats like their Potatochip Chocolates, among others. Now, ROYCE’ has become a global brand with a growing presence in over 14 countries, including the US, with a goal of letting the world discover how Japan does chocolate.
