MASAO MIYAMOTO
He was born in Komatsu-shi, Ishikawa prefrecture. Graduation from the department of Art, Tokyo University of the Arts.He returned to his hometown after graduated from university, and entered Shinsei kiln owned by his father Tadao who is the virtuoso of micro brush painting overglaze enamel. He is the regular member of Japan Art Crafts Associaition and is active in various publicly sponsored exhibitions. He focused the Ojikosai (overglaze yellow and red enamel decoration) of overglaze enamel technique which was born during Ming period of China. Concrete textures such as goldfish, birds, flowers, etc. are done by the gradation of colored glaze. He uses white color part as space and it is highly evaluated as new decoration in Kutani Ware. He makes the original raw clay with texture by the detailed zaffer’s line-drawn and the scraffito today, and releases the ceramic named Ryokuyu the green glaze decoration. He has established his unique design combining both the material and the technique based on the tradition of Kutani.
